Position Description:

Newton Construction, a leading firm in the construction industry, is excited to offer a Construction Internship opportunity for motivated students or recent graduates. This hands-on experience will provide insight into the construction industry while working alongside seasoned professionals on exciting projects throughout San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas.

Position Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

• Strong interest in construction and project management

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

• Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus

• Basic understanding of construction plans and drawings

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Essential Duties:

• Assist project managers and construction supervisors in day-to-day tasks on active job sites

• Support the coordination of materials, tools, and equipment for various construction projects

• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards

• Assist with project documentation, including tracking progress and maintaining records

• Participate in team meetings and help with project planning and scheduling

• Gain exposure to various phases of construction from pre-construction to project close-out
